Germ Central is produced by Swisher Hygiene as an online resource for critical information on hygiene in the public environment. Our mission is to provide the widest possible audience the insight and guidance it needs to recognize and combat the threat of germs. Only by being armed with the most recent knowledge of microbial dangers can individuals and businesses take prudent, effective measures that improve their own health, the health of their families and coworkers and the health of the public at large.

ABOUT DR. CHARLES GERBA

Dr. Gerba is a professor of environmental microbiology in the department of Microbiology and Immunology and the department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is a member of the American Academy of Microbiology and the author or co-author of numerous books and more than 400 peer-reviewed papers for scholarly journals. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Miami in Florida.
